Wonder Letters — From Kids Across the Globe

Educator & Church Resource Page

Wonder Letters exists to equip churches and families to talk to kids about unreached people groups. We are proud to be a part of Sunday School programs across the United States, a highlight of homeschool programs, and a part of family devotions at the dinner table.

Wonder Letters loves educators

Wonder Letters is an excellent tool for educators who want to provide their students with a comprehensive learning experience. It includes geography, botany, philosophy, and zoology when possible — a unique educational supplement that engages students and encourages them to explore the world around them.

1

Open and read the letter as a class

If you want to prepare supplemental coloring pages, a map, or other materials ahead of time, go right ahead — but it's not required.

2

Ask good questions

What animals or plants were mentioned inside? What do we know about those? Have you heard about this people group before?

3

Find the people group on the globe

Sometimes security allows us to name specific places and sometimes wisdom requires we use a general area — either way, locating the region together grounds the story in real geography.

4

Use the Talking and Prayer Points page

Each Wonder Letter includes a Talking and Prayer Points page. For faith-based institutions, pray together. For secular classrooms, the Talking Points work beautifully on their own — questions like "What is different or the same about your life and ______'s life?" spark genuine reflection.

5

Put the contents on display

After enjoying the letter together, display the contents in your classroom. The illustrations, maps, and stories make wonderful classroom decor that keeps the conversation going all month.

Wonder Letters loves Sunday school

Wonder Letters gives Sunday school teachers a ready-made Global Sunday every month. You'll still have a class of eager children — but your Wonder Letter does all the prep work. Here's how to make the most of it.

1

Plan Global Sunday for the third Sunday of the month

When your Wonder Letter arrives in the mail, tuck it away for that third Sunday, or take a look and begin building a bulletin board. Tack up a map of the area of the world and let the kids guess where the people group lives. The lead-up possibilities are endless — or simply take a breath and do nothing at all.

2

Start with a song

Choose a song that focuses on God's heart for his people or the nations. Setting a worship tone before diving into the letter draws children's attention to why they're learning about this people group.

3

Open the letter together

Read it aloud as a class. For churches with multiple Sunday schools and a limited budget, consider photographing each page and projecting it — one physical letter can reach an entire ministry.

4

Walk through the letter together

Explore the illustrations, the story, and the cultural details as a class. Let kids react naturally to what they see and hear — their questions and observations are part of the lesson.

5

Use the Talking Points

Each Wonder Letter includes a Talking and Prayer Points page. The Talking Points are simple questions designed to get kids thinking beyond their own world — great for guided discussion in any group setting.

6

Pray together — and let the kids lead

God knows by name every child living in that people group. Chances are, there is one by the name used in the letter. Never cease to be amazed at the faith in children's prayers.

7

Put the contents on display

Display the letter contents in a public area of the church — a missions bulletin board is perfect. You can even send home copies of the Talking and Prayer Points page with parents so the conversation continues at home.

As an educator and school leader, I am always looking for resources that both nurture a child's curiosity and compassion while broadening their view of the world. Wonder Letters does this beautifully!

Each monthly letter highlights an unreached people group through a child's perspective, weaving together a personal and meaningful account of their daily life with historical accuracy. The letter builds empathy and curiosity, while the prayer points cultivate awareness and connection. The holistic approach, blending engaging storytelling, hands-on activities, and personalized artwork, is thoughtfully rooted in how children learn best: through connection, creativity, and meaningful experience.

For families and schools who want to raise globally minded, compassionate kids with a heart for all of God's children, Wonder Letters is a meaningful and beautifully designed resource.
